During mid-1963, Ford came out with a special 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie “R” code model. Odometer only shows 1 mile, original miles are unknown.
With the dramatically improved aerodynamics and radically improved horsepower of the 427 with dual 4-barrel carbs, Ford dominated not just the NASCAR series but also drag strips and street races.
This superior quality fresh from the rotisserie restoration uses all the correct date coded components; the 4 spd transmission and rear end are believed to be correct to the car. The original 427 block has been replaced with a stroker motor pushing 500 hp with original heads & intake featuring the original dual carbs; no detail or expense has been spared. The factory exhaust has been replaced with Hooker Jet-Hot coated headers and 3” exhaust all the way back to the axle. For maximum dependability and performance the conventional ignition has been upgraded to electronic ignition. The interior was also upgraded to the XL black interior featuring bucket seats & console. At first glance, this brilliant bright red restoration with its incredibly gleaming chrome, stainless & aluminum trim is almost blinding. Always a crowd pleaser at shows & cruise-ins, this R-code gives a blast of adrenalin rush with just a touch of the pedal.
This car represents a total high-quality restoration inside, outside and underneath. It is clearly one of the best in the country.
